Am I a Candidate for Breast Augmentation with a Breast Lift?
If you have breast sag and want more breast volume, then you are a candidate for a breast augmentation with a breast lift. In combination, these two procedures are very powerful to rejuvenate your body and help you get the ideal proportions for your overall figure.
If you don’t have any breast sagging then you’re probably a candidate for breast augmentation alone. Similarly, if you do not want breast volume but desire your breasts to be lifted, you’re a candidate for a breast lift.
If you have any wound healing issues, like if you are a current smoker, you should avoid a breast augmentation with a breast lift, because you may have significant issues with healing your incisions.
If you are overweight, typically with a BMI/ body mass index higher than 30, then you may not be a candidate for breast augmentation with breast lift due to concerns about wound healing.
How Do I Pick the Right Breast Implant Size?
It’s a little more difficult to choose the correct breast implant volume with a combination breast augmentation with breast lift because you will lose some overall breast volume when I remove loose breast skin. With breast implants sizers, you can try on breast implants in my office to figure out the best implant volume for your final result.
I also have software that shows you an approximation of your “before and after” but because you also need a breast lift, the software is not as accurate as just a breast augmentation procedure.
How Do You Do the Procedure?
After taking careful measurements and drawing out the surgical plan on your body, I will place the breast implants first, make sure they are in the correct overall position, and then do the breast lift procedure. The breast lift incision is usually just around the areola or around the areola with a vertical line underneath, depending on your breast tissue and how much breast lift you need.
In the operating room, while you are asleep, I will sit you up and lay you down to ensure that your results are as symmetric and aesthetic as possible. Your breasts look different in different body positions, so it’s important for me to see the results in multiple positions to ensure aesthetics and symmetry.
What is the Long Term Result of a Breast Augmentation With Breast Lift?
Most of the healing takes place in the first 1-2 months, but long term, it takes 12 months to see your final results. It’s important to take care of your incisions, doing breast implant massage, and using anti-scar therapy to get the best aesthetic results. You will be seeing me several times after your procedure to ensure that you get the best results possible.
How Do I Make a Consultation?
Simply call my office at (415) 362-1846 or email info@drkim.com, and my Patient Care Coordinator will get you started! Consultations typically take 45-60 minutes, and I do the entire consultation personally, without the use of a nurse or helper to vet your questions and concerns without me present. Consultations are $150 and the cost of the consultation goes towards the cost of surgery when you decide to book your procedure.
