What Does Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin do?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all neurotoxins, and help to reduce the strength of the muscles that cause wrinkles.

As most people emote and age, they begin forming wrinkles in their foreheads, between the eyebrows, and around their eyes. Injections of Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin get rid of these wrinkles by causing the muscles to relax, thus eliminating the wrinkles in that area and preventing new ones from forming.

Are You a Good Candidate for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin?

You’re a candidate for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin if you have a muscle creating a wrinkle, and you are not on anything that thins your blood, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or similar medication. If you are pregnant you are not a candidate.

What Are The Differences Between Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin?

They are all neurotoxins, but made by different companies. The only difference is the brand name.

Botox is the most commonly used neurotoxin and is made by Allergan.

Xeomin is made by Merz.

Dysport is made by Galderma and has a lower price point as well as it begins working faster than botox.

How Long Will Your Results Last?

Your results should last about 3-4 months. Results will vary based on your body, in what facial areas you get the neurotoxin, and how often you get your neurotoxin treatments.

All of the neurotoxins –  Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin – should last about the same length of time.

When Will You See Fewer Wrinkles and Weaker Muscles?

Typically it will take 4-7 days to start seeing results. Dysport seems to work slightly faster than other neurotoxins, so you may start seeing changes in 1-2 days.

Any Complications from Botox, Dysport or Xeomin?

If any neurotoxin is injected too close to your upper eyelid, then you may have trouble lifting up your eyes. This is very uncommon, and I do not inject this area!

Can I See Your Results?

Interestingly, I decided to inject my own face with Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.  My “before and after” video is below:

How Do I Make a Consultation?

Call my office at (415) 362-1846 or email info@drkim.com, and my Patient Care Coordinator will get you started!

Consultations typically take 45-60 minutes, and I do the entire consultation personally, without the use of a nurse or helper to vet your questions and concerns without me present. Consultations are $150, and the cost of the consultation goes towards the cost of surgery when you decide to book your procedure.
