Waited 1 month post breast augmentation to give my honest review. I've consulted with other surgeons in the city (SF) but what makes Dr Kim stand out for me was his credentials, experience, up to date knowledge & expertise, surgical technique (rapid recovery), fair pricing (SF standards), approachability, and most importantly his bedside manners. These were the deciding factors for me. As a patient who has VERY low pain tolerance, my primary concern was pain post surgery and Dr Kim assured me that with his rapid recovery technique, I would be in no pain at all. Consultation day: Dr. Kim answered all my questions and concerns in a way that I would fully understand. He never made me feel uneasy (I asked a lot of questions) and gave me enough time to try on sizers without the feeling of being rushed. A few weeks before my surgery, I was having second thoughts on the size and Dr. Kim talked me through it and even made me come back to his office to try them on again to help ease my anxiety. Night before surgery: Dr Kim personally called to check in on me for any last minute concerns. Day of surgery: Dr Kim did his final assessment and assured me that everything will be great. As a patient who gets very anxious, his compassionate and caring nature really makes a difference. Post surgery: I was very amazed that I did not feel any pain at all. Of course I felt pressure on my chest which was expected but there was no pain. After the surgical anesthesia wore off, I was able to move around at home and did light walking in my room. That night, Dr. Kim called me to check in on me to see how I was doing. Post operation days 1-3: Felt no pain, just soreness/swelling (which is expected), I was able to take a shower, walk around in my living room, raise my arms, and move around by myself. I was even baking already at day 3. The only pain I felt was back pain due to the sleeping position (you have to sleep upright for a couple of days to relieve swelling). But there was absolutely no pain from the surgery. Week1-3: Breast swelling is getting better day by day. Once the stitches were removed, Dr. Kim showed me how to properly care for it by using topical antibiotic cream and gauze. I also started breast massage as instructed. I was pretty much back to my normal self and doing things I normally do. I also did light walking every single day. By week 3, I started doing light Pilates and used light weights (2-5lbs). Conclusion: Dr Kim's bedside manners is truly admirable. As I've stated earlier, I have very low pain tolerance but my recovery was easy and pain free. Dr Kim's rapid recovery technique is truly the way to go and worth every penny. I'm in my one month post surgery and I already love my results. I highly recommend going to Dr Kim for his rapid recovery technique, natural looking results, and fairly priced surgery (SF standards).
